B-Rate is a catch all safe industry rating for essentially any box with a lock on it. The safe industry had an unwritten standard of Ā¼ inch body, Ā½ inch door. Today, many safe companies use 1/8" steel in the body. Some will make both 1/8" and 1/4" steel bodies. The 1/4" costs more. As steel prices (and shipping costs) increased manufacturers tried many things to reduce their costs. No tests are given to provide this rating. When buying a B-rate safe, look at things such as lock work, hard plates, and relockers.
Through the use of stainless steel finishes over aluminum doors, with virtually maintenance free finishes, the AB-510 safe deposit boxes offer attractive, low cost modular construction, and minimal upkeep.
Construction
The AB-510 safe deposit boxes combine solid alloy doors faced with aluminum with cabinets of powder coated rust-resistant steel. For high security, the doors are designed with a heavy flange that interlocks with the door jamb. The modular cabinets can be stacked in sections, and bolted together through pre-drilled holes in the frame, for an easy installation. The AB-510 can be installed against the vault wall, utilizing every inch of valuable wall space.
Locks
As standard, doors are fitted with a double nose, key changeable lock both guard and customer side, and listed by Underwriters Laboratories, Northbrook, IL, USA. Locks are firmly attached to the door at four points to aid in the prevention of punch attacks.
Number Plates (INCLUDED - customer must specify numbering sequence)
Glare-resistant matte finish number plates are recessed into a special frame that compliments the stainless steel finishes over aluminum doors. Plates may be easily interchanged at a later date if the numbering sequence is changed.
Key Tags
Attractive imprinted plastic tags with key ring are available at an additional cost. Standard procedure provides two customer keys in a sealed, numbered envelope
Bases (OPTIONAL)
Constructed of heavy duty tubular steel and finished in aluminum to match the boxes. Standard bases are 3" high and equipped with leveling legs. Bases allow users to have 3" of added ground clearance and are highly recommended. Bond Boxes (INCLUDED)
Metal bond boxes are furnished in all sizes. Boxes are constructed from sheet metal and finished in a grey powder coated enamel finish.
